Lexus es350 2008 tuning
Hello! I would like to modify my 2008 Lexus ES350 to make it a little more modern and efficient. I would like some suggestions for less than $300. Thank you!

Welcome to CL. How many miles are on it? How long have you had it?
The ES is a luxury cruiser and not a vehicle that is often modified. There is nothing you can do for the engine except maintenance to be sure it is operating at peak condition. $300 does not go far these days. Take your $300 and do some maintenance, maybe get it checked out by an independent shop. Aftermarket cold air intakes will make it slower as they are mostly hot air intakes that just make more noise and reduce performance. So make sure the air filter is not that dirty. Check tire pressure. Check all other fluids, look for leaks. Confirm the brakes are in good shape. Spend $20 for a big bottle of Techron Fuel System Cleaner and put it in the gas tank when filling it up. It will help clean out the fuel injectors etc and help mileage etc. |
$300 will not get you far when tuning or modding your car. You can't get a set of tires for that anymore, but it might get you some tint in the right neighborhoods.

Lexus es350 2008
My 2008 Lexus ES350 has 87,500 miles. I've had it for a month. The two front seats have two small tears. I'd like to know what kind of leather upholstery I should put over them. As for performance, I thought about installing a new K&N air filter, but I don't know if it's worth it. Otherwise, I might like to change the lights under the doors for lights that project the Lexus logo onto the asphalt, but I don't know if it's possible to install those kinds of lights. I know this car is made to drive comfortably without making too much noise, but I'd still like to do something clean to make it sound a little better. Otherwise, I'm open to anyone's advice!
Thank you very much. |

yeah I live in a wealthy suburb I don't want to look like a drug dealer to my neighbors either, but I'm willing to put $750 down for a modification if it's worth it

Check with an upholstery shop for repair costs on the leather seats - they can do some amazing things.

Are there any seat cover alternatives on specialist sites, or what kind of place could I go to see how they could arrange this for me?

There are seat covers on eBay.
If you want to do some work yourself a company called Leather Renew sells restoration kits to make your seats look great again. I did it on my RX350. See this thread which contains links to the company and they also sell ways to repair small tears. When I painted my cracked leather seats, I used a foam brush, then finished with their clear coat as it protects the finish. They have a chart to match your leather color, the popular tan is called Parchment. It is not that expensive. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-3rd-gen-2010-2015/760610-leather-or-what-ever-it-is-is-terrible-2.html https://leatherrenew.com/ https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...xus-rx350.html |
