Illuminator Wiring
Today I decided I needed to replace the gear shift indicator light on the center console of my 2007 Lexus ES350. I pull everything apart and remove the bulb. Me being the ignorant teenager I am, stuck a multi-meter into the socket to see if I was getting any voltage. I wasn't. This raised some alarms. I put everything back together and said I would leave it for a different day. After everything was put back together the way I found it, I started the car. As I was pulling out of the driveway I noticed that my HVAC cluster was no longer fully lit up. All that was lit up was the clock, climate control (AC) button, and the "auto" button. I switched the headlights on and off and the "night mode" where the entire climate control cluster didn't light up. I don't know if there's a correlation between the light I messed with and the illumination. I'm inclined to believe that it's the illumination switch or system because my aftermarket head unit also doesn't switch modes to light/dark. I'm in desperate need of some guidance as to what it could possibly be. I checked all the fuses to see if one of them could possibly have blown when I stuck the multi-meter in the socket and somehow touched the two. All of the fuses in the interior box and the exterior box checked out. Mind you the illumination control switch wheel still dims and brigthens the gauge cluster not the climate control cluster. Is there some sort of inline fuse that I blew??
Thank you in advance!
