Transmission Flaring (slipping)
on my way this morning i did notice it flared once very lightly at cold start from 3-4. usually for my car the flares are intense and happen about 3 times before shifting smoothly again. so i did notice improvement although i am going to want to buy that mongoose cable from aliexpress, please point me in that direction if you end up finding it, thank you!
I have a twist on this topic. In both of our toyota siennas ‘08 & ‘14 had shifting issues. I decided to replace the tranny fluid thru the cooler line with 12 qts of toyota brand fluid. Knowing that ATF is a detergent and purging the old fluid and replacing it with new will clean the crud out of the tranny within a few hundred miles, I added an inline filter to the cooler line to capture the freed grit and grime. I used the Magnefine filter 3/8” size. And also added a trans cooler to keep the ATF from reaching 200*F. Since then the gear hunting at all speeds has resolved. Also if Im not mistaken you want to heat the tranny to 116*F to set the level. OP what did you use to read the the transmission temp?

Btw, I haven't had the time to try to do the transmission update. I work a lot with my car. It has been 10k miles and it is not as bad as before but still does but a lot softer now. I still want to try the software update.
I work at a Toyota Dealership now and one the techs updated the TCM. Vehicle is a lot better now. Almost perfect. There is a TSB about replacing the valve body but it would be $1k plus. Since it is so much better now, it is not worth replacing it.
hey I have a question my 2012 es350 makes this noise it almost sounds like there’s a rock in my rockers it happens when I’m going slow then to a dead stop and when I lightly accelerate and sometimes on bumps
