2007 ES350 Ultra Package with ML system

My front passenger side speaker in the door is popping at loud volume (35+ volume). The cone in the middle has probably fell apart. This happened in the past to one of the speakers on the dash located in the corner and I was able to pull it out and super glue the middle cone back on. I'm going to try and take the door speaker out and repair it by using some glue but after doing some research in the forum, it looks like the speaker is 8 ohm, not 4 ohm.

If a repair is not possible, can I replace with a 4 ohm 6X9 Kenwood, JVC, Sony etc speaker? or is a 8 ohm speaker required?

I also saw some used OEM door speakers on ebay for like $50-$60 so that is another option if I want plug and play but given that these are cheap paper speakers, if I have the opportunity to repalce with something better (and cheaper), why not?

The amp will likely drive a 4 ohm speaker no problem but could result in the speaker being louder. So you will have an imbalance compared to the original setup. Different generation but see this thread

You can find speaker recone kits online. Just Mark Levinson speaker recone kits. You need ML compatible speakers as they are different from all other Lexus speakers.

https://www.simplyspeakers.com/mark-...edge-kits.html

or

https://www.midwestspeakerrepair.com...mark-levinson/

It is not difficult to do, I have done it a couple of times.

Or go to Crutchfield to find suitable replacement speakers. I have done part of the search for you
https://www.crutchfield.com/car/outfitmycar/mycar.aspx

Or search eBay for the OEM speaker as described below.

The OEM parts no is 86160-0W560
Search that part number with Lexus in front on eBay and you will find many speakers as it seems the same speaker was used in several vehicles. on eBay they can be had for about $100 used, or a recone kit for $25.
