Dorman VVT Solenoid
Hi Everyone,
I'm looking to possibly replace my VVT Solenoids in my 2008 ES 350 because of problems I'm having with it. So, being this forum has been so helpful I figured I'd ask for some advice. I was told by a mechanic whose been fixing cars that he would not use Dorman VVT Solenoids. That they always go bad after he's installed them in the past. So he will not work on my car if I use Dorman. What do some of you say? Money is not an issue. Thanks so much for your help. |
That mechanic is a smart man. Dorman is what you use when nothing else is available.

Thank you very much for your response. Much appreciated.

Leave aftermarket for the accessories and less important stuff that will only be an annoyance if it breaks. |
I was planning on using OEM but a friend of mine who works with cars said "oh you can use Dorman for 35 bucks a VVT. I was like $35 bucks? They can't be good for $35. And the reviews for Dorman were just Eh. So, I appreciate your time in answering my question. Much appreciated.

These solenoids are very complex and I would suggest you to use OEMs.
