Seat cover recommendations?

I have a 2007 that was in great shape until I started parking it outside at my new job about 5 years ago and it’s done a number of the leather seats. Tears have shown up in all of them in the last year or so - the front is pretty bad and the back is similar but not nearly as bad (probably because it has less use or maybe the sun doesn’t hit it the same way).

Have others used seat covers that they like? I’d ideally like to get a set that still lets the ventilated AC through and not trying to change the color, but most ones I see are “universal fit” and claim they’ll fit anything but not so sure. I’d like to get something that covers the backseat too, but again not sure what the experience is like. Was looking at something like this: https://a.co/d/ie0V9de.

I still park my car in the sun so not looking to replace the seats as they’ll just get destroyed again, unfortunately.

They sent me headrest hoods after thos photo was taken. I complained that front seats headrest had hoods but not rear? The hoods are much better.

I bought these nice sest covers from Amazon last month. They offer various colors.

I had mine redone in vinyl for $850. I'm not keeping mine forever, so I went inexpensive. Looks good, feels cheap.

eBay has perforated replacement covers here are links. Bottoms and backs are sold separatelly. It seems they have perforated leatherette and also leather that does not appear perforated.
Or talk to a couple of local car upholstery shops. Of local junkyards for used seats.

I bought these. The side parts are not leather, the middle part is leather and feel very good. Perforated also.

I forgot to mention that mine is a UL car, so it has perforated leather. I had it redone in the exact pattern as the original. I know some of the base models do not have it.

Please read it again. I edited it.

My seats look like the OP's photos. Does anyone have tips/website links/etc. on installing seat covers in a 2011 ES350 with heated/cooled seats? I watched some youtube videos. Replacing the seat covers looks like a long task. Should I disconnect the negative end of my car battery before removing the driver and passenger seat? Seems like a smart thing to do for the air bags. Some videos did it and some did not. Other than that... you just take it apart and put it back together.

I've been using seat covers on my 2007 car with ventilated seats for a few years now, and I've tried a few different brands. Wetokole's are definitely the best I've used. They're made of a high-quality material, they fit well, and they're easy to install.
I was also impressed with how well they allow the ventilated AC to pass through. I was worried that they would block the airflow, but that hasn't been the case at all. In fact, I find that my seats stay cooler with the seat covers on.

Hi,

Can you please let me know where you bought this seat cover from. I also want to change my front seat covers.

sthpawil Mar 1, 2025 04:47 AM

Purchased full front set leather upholstery from Texan Auto Seat Covers via their eBay listing https://www.ebay.com/itm/266590188938

Excellent fit and the leather seems to be of good quality... nice and thick. I am hopeful it holds up for a long time.

I did take me a lot longer to install the new upholstery than I thought it would. I highly recommend that if you have heated seats that you purchase a quilters basting gun to reattach the heating pads to the new leather. I sewed the first one by hand before going to Michael's Crafts to purchase a basting gun.

To remove the headrest supports you must first take the back of the seat off. You can then look up into the seat and see the two tabs on each support that must be depressed in order to release the supports.

Quilter's basting gun makes quick work of reattaching the heated seats pad.
