Driver's Side console doesn't always display navigation.
 

When using the navigation, I noticed that the driver's side console didn't always display the pop up turn directions, once I was near the upcoming point.

My initial theory was that it didn't display it if I was playing an audio CD.

However, my new theory might be that while on the freeway, it won't display the pop up directions on the driver's side console. So it won't tell me to take Exit XXX on the driver's side console when I'm near that exit, but it will in the center console.

Once I'm on city streets again, then it will display the upcoming directions on the driver's side console again.

Can anyone confirm? I rarely go on the freeway, so it will take me a while to test this out. It might be another month before I go on the freeway.

I usually play audio CDs if I'm going on the freeway, so that's why that was my initial theory.

Has anyone else noticed when the driver's side console does display navigation directions along with the center console, and when it doesn't (while the center console still does)?

I have noticed it, but haven't pinned down exactly what it's doing. I think it may only show on the driver's side when a turn / exit is imminent.
