I believe that all of my lights are LED except the doors, vanity and trunk....AND PLEASE feel free to step in and correct me..Am I to assume that bulbs in this car are NOT canibus ? Then what size bulbs do i get for the Doors, vanity and trunk...?? If there are others that are nor LED please advise... Thank you so much...OH BTW.. What do you all use for a cell phone cradle? I cant fund a suitable place to lay it....

The bulbs to use for the doors, vanity, and trunk are T-10 LED's. You can buy them on Ebay for about a dollar apiece. Takes about 30 minutes to replace all 4 doors, trunk and overhead lights. Looks beautiful changing from yellow to white light especially at night. As far as a cellphone cradle, I simply use the forward cup holder. Other members have purchased clip-on holders that work fine. There are several previous threads on LED lighting and cell phone holders.
Lastly, welcome to CL and GOOD LUCK with your new car.

Thanks so much... So is there only ONE size/length of T10 bulbs?? AND on a 2016, are these the ONLY ones that need changed?Originally Posted by bc6152

T10 is a bulb type, the size can vary. You can use longer bulbs for the roof lights but the door lights need smaller bulbs to fit within the housing. The mirror downlights also need smaller bulbs. You can use a huge bulb for the trunk light.
You might want to change the reverse lights to LEDs too. Those use T15 bulbs, a giant version of the T10. Mine are seriously bright and really light up the rear when reversing, especially in the camera view.
Do 2016 cars use LEDs for the front and rear indicators?
Maybe we should make this info into a sticky. It's a common question for newbies

OK. Im sorry for all the questions.... So apparantly not ALL my lights are LEDs like i thought

The trunk light, puddle lights (below the side mirrors), turn signals (front and rear), courtesy lights (on each door), vanity mirrors lights, and reverse lights are incandescent bulbs.
Do both front and fear turn signals use the same led Bulb? I saw someone say there's one that has a register builtin..but are like 50 bucks abulb..

The front and rear indicators use incandescents, not LEDs. You can replace them with LEDs but you need bulbs with built-in resistors or add some resistors in series. Otherwise the body computer thinks the bulb is damaged and you get hyper flashing instead of the usual slow sequence.
Haven't done this mod myself, I'm a bit wary about the resistors getting very hot when the indicators are kept on for a long time like when the hazards are on. Others have done it and had no issues though.

What size are they....do the front take the same size?...guess if built in.. they would not be abad.. but really how often are flashers used?

I have a 2013 that did not have LED taillights or turn signals. I did do a mod and installed LED's. The mod did not require any resistors and took about one hour to do. This was about 3 years ago and have not had any problems. I posted the procedure with photos and dialogue but I couldn't find it with a search. Maybe one of you techies out there know a better way to find a 3 year old post. Originally Posted by chromedome

A trick, I read somewhere is where a latex glove. Mush easier to pull on the bulb not using oily fingers. It makes such a difference after replacing. Did both our ES and RX. I remember the dome light in the RX was very difficult. Persistence pays of.

Thanks for the recommendation, my biggest issue is how to take off the plastic cover. One of the changes Lexus made for the 2016 ES model was that the dome/reading lights are a proximity/touch type and I am not sure if you have to take the whole console out or just the lense cover to replace the bulb.
thanks
thanks
