I have a 1995 ES300. When I put it into reverse there is a delay before it goes into gear. It goes into drive fine but when I drive it seems to down shift on its own. This problem has just started and it has 125,000 miles. I have not driven it since the problem.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice?

 

check the fluid in the auto matic, perhaps have it changed, I bet it's low.

After reading all the posts on this subject I am going to do the fluid, filter and clean the pan and screen.
I will let you know how this works.
