Question Flip Flop Trunk

Has anyone here tried their hands at that "flip flop" trunk modification? Looks easy to do. Wondering if it's worth it, and if you have done it, if your satisfied. I'm thinking of doing it, says a 95 ES300 can do it. Feedback about this would be great.

you can buy kits for it on ebay, doesn't look too hard, and it looks cool. it doesn't seem to open up any more space to get stuff in the trunk though

A flip flop trunk has the hinges reversed so it opens differnetly.

with our style lexus, only the decklid opens up, so fliping it down wouldnt really make it look cool since the taillights are not connected to the decklid...

that is the biggest waste of money i've ever seen. These parts are merely door hinges you can buy from ANY Home Depot. I've seen a few around here and look pretty cheesy to me.

Yeah that is a good point. Hinges are easy to aquire, and our trunk lids don't have lights on it. I will ditch this idea. But it was only an idea. Thanks for the comments guys.

Tru tru.

Camren put one on his GS and it was quite flimsy. The trunk lid didn't even sit properly and left a gap.
