-=HELP=- fuel problem undetermined
status update from lexus forum community: 64 VIEWS / 0 REPLIES
This is either a crappy community
or crappy thread?
I'll try again in a resumed way, without touching the previous message.
CAR: ES 300 92'
QUIZ:
CAR STARTS ok
IDLE ok - sometimes it'll shut down on its own.
ACCELERATION stumble when passes 4K
WHEN IN GEAR goes a bit and then shuts down soon after
THE PROBLEM IS??
"Greetings lexus people,
Need help to determine the problem. I'd appreciate any help.
Everything works fine, except when I put on D (AUTOMATIC) it will kinda start dying as it's demanding more gas than in idle.
When in idle, it works fine as I accelerate until it reaches 4k RPMS and then it starts to make hip cups and not really get there.
if I accelerate on neutral up to 2K RPMS and then on gear it'll go a bit n then stop.
The issue started as I WAS going to the gas station (DIDNT QUITE MAKE IT), the GAS NEEDLE had been near to E for a while and I was going to pump gas.
It suddendly died while I was going and It wouldnt start anymore.
MY GUESS: fuel pump
YOUR GUESS: please share.
thank you very much."
PS; IF NEED ASK QUESTIONS, ILL BE STANDING BY FOR 24 HRS. Thanks

First off, don't be rude if you're looking for help. I know it may be frustrating when you get no responses, but the real problem might be with your question. You're asking for help on a very obscure problem. You really need a professional to take a look at your car. The fact that your problems started after fueling up the car can be a clue, but can also misguide you, it could have just been a coincidence.
If you think it's a fuel issue, you need to get a fuel gauge and take some reading while raising the RPMs. Lastly, you never listed any info about your car. What year is it, how many miles are on it, and what is its history like? You said it was on empty for a while, so was it sitting somewhere for a long period of time? Is it even a Lexus ES?
Good luck

MrBobby,
First off, thanks for replying.
2nd off, I said, if this isnt a crappy community, "my thread is too hard for people to understand" which I"ll eddit to, or my thread is crappy.
and it was the 2nd one, since you mention all of the details you couldnt understand out of it.
The problem started as I WAS GOING TO the gas station. Didn't get to put gas on it.
the history is a bit irrelevant in this particular case cuz it's motor is a swap, for an original motor, that was used, and we dont know up to what extent.
And I figure since we're in the forum of LEXUS ES 300/330 it'd be either one and they'd be pretty similar.
Of course there could be ppl asking for other cars, but if there's no specification one could safely assume it's that default car.
but either way. We're changing the fuel pump and maybe fuel filter n see how it goes from there.
thank you
