Every 50,000 miles would be the best.

I believe most manufacturers recommend 30k, but I could be wrong. Some people change it every other oil change.

I see that you have a 2005 ES, I'd recommended changing the transmission fluid every 30k miles as MrBooby mentioned. Be sure to use Toyota Type-IV ATF, you will need 3.7 qt to do a drain and fill.

Just fyi, the transmission is connected with the differential, so opening the transmission drain plug will also drain the differential. If you really want to be thorough, there is an additional plug just for the diff on the side. It's a little harder to open though. There is no need for a 'hand operated fluid transfer pump'. The transmission/differential gets refilled through the dip stick.

The 2005 ES does not have a plug on the side for the diff, like the earlier 4 speed ES's.

Thanks a bunch, I would have never known. I will change oil soon and definitely change tranny fluid, above was mentioned Dextron III, and also Toyota IV ATF, are they similiar or the same?

They are different (T-IV has more friction modifiers), you MUST use Toyota Type IV ATF.

+1 Different fluids for different model years. Yours needs the T-IV, which can easily be found at any Lexus/Toyota dealer. Shouldn't be more than 6 bucks a quart.
