unowned, is this your screenshot or did you copy the image above? I ask as my Map Version is the same, but the Map Update ID is different. Just wondering if ID is unique to each vehicle or different updates?

FWIW, I told my SM to make sure my car had the most recent Nav map update when I had the car in for servicing. He told me that my car had the most recent version if it was built after 10/12. My car was built in 11/12. I hope this doesn't add to the confusion.

BTW, he did confirm it had the latest version when he called me to tell me my car was ready.

Map version is what you care about "[2012-06-1]" date.

I'll add to the confusion: I have the same map data as the last photo displayed (about three or four messages ago) - my car had to be built in August or September because I bought it on September 30 and picked it up on October 5. Therefore, if the new map version came out in 2013 - then how could I have the latest version? My guess is that all 300h (what I have) have the same map version - however, who knows if it is in fact the latest version!

It seems the Lexus enform site only talks about the dealer "update" package built to support Gen7 systems being delayed for release not what was already available on navigations built from the factory. Notice the map data date was June 2012 which means it would have been ready for new navigations built from July on.

I am going to check the build date on our vehicle as I am still confused as to why my Map ID is different from the three mentioned. The dealer received the vehicle mid December.

Default Free Navigation Update

So those of you out there that bought cars between October and January and want this, it is possible.
I'm reporting that upon my first service visit, the 5K checkup, I had the trunk safety pull replaced under the recall, and received the free navigation update as promised by the dealer SM.

Default Date of map data

How do you find the date of the map data by year on the ES350?

Default GPS Updates

Hi All,
I really think if you buy a Lexus from a Dealer and you
take you car to the Dealer for inspection and or service they should automatically update your system (NAV.) for free . I mean what the Hell I paid $71K for the car and pay $50 for an oil change and they
can’t throw in a GPS Update BullS**T. Time to start looking for something else!

If you paid $71k for an ES, I don't know what to say. Maybe that's why they give you cheap oil changes.

Anyways, who gives free nav updates whenever they come out?

Every car company charges a similar amount for nav updates as Lexus, except Tesla.

$50 for an oil change is cheap. A synthetic oil change at Jiffy Lube is more than that.

It appears that herculesx has a 2004 GS. So, the cost of a synthetic oil change is likely not relevant for his/her vehicle.

Also, the $71,000 vehicle price tag for the vehicle would not have been for an ES. Still, $71,000 seems like it would have been quite high for a 2004 GS.
