Blown Engine!?!

Default Blown Engine!?!

Hey guys. my name is Nigel. im 18 just graduated from highschool and looking for a car to work on while i work. im a roofer full time and i use a 2009 kawasaki ninja 250 to get to and from work but since the winter is on its way, i need something more element friendly. I found a 1993 Lexus es300 for sale on the internet going for $250 because it has a blown engine. i've always wanted to have a big project to work on like this. \Whether it be a motorcycle or car,but i've always been discouraged from it by either my parents or friends. my thing is if you have enough of this --->$$$$ anythings possible. but my thing is what would you think? would it be cheaper to fix the engine or buy another engine altogether?

Impossible to know without seeing the condition of the engine.

Like he mentioned it would be hard to tell without knowing the condition of the engine. I would inspect the motor and see what all is messed up then go from there. If you do have to get a new motor before you install it i would make sure to do all the necessary replacements while the motor is out ie timing belt, water pump and things in that nature.

If we go with totally blown then finding a good JY engine would be the cheapest and probably the easiest. You shouldn't have to difficult of a time finding a decent engine to replace it with.
