I bought a used '09 ES 350 and it is obvious that by looking at the lugs that one lug per wheel requires a key to insert in the lug wrench. I cant find itinerary thecar anywhere and even the manual does not mention it. Any idea what part number? Thanks

 

Sewell has replacements. Sure its not floating around the trunk under the cover?

Could also be on the jack with a wire tye. Check there also. Might be in a black and clear plastic bag. There are different key lugs. You'll have to determeine which one you need before going to Sewell's. I didn't get one with my SC. I got lucky and the one that fits the ES also fits the SC. Got the number of that one and went to the dealer that I got the SC from and they ordered one. Good Luck.

 

Damn thing definitely not there. What is interesting is that if you notice on either side of the spare tire there is a styrofoam tray holding a couple of wrenches etc. On the left of the spare a rectangular cut in is empty like something should be there that isn't. Maybe a small tool kit was there and is now missing. It might have held the key.

 

Have you asked the seller However that is owes it to you.

^^^^Doesn't matter. You bought a complete automobile with all parts and components working. Was there wording in the contract that excluded the wheel lock key? And, if the dealer took it in trade, he knows who the old owner was and can contact him. No matter:

The selling dealer owes you a wheel lock key!

This is a serviceability issue!

Your dealer should take care of this for you. And pronto! What if you happen to get a flat tire?

 

Go to a Lexus dealer and have them remove the lug nuts. They have a complete set of keys to do this. Then you can either buy a new key or go to a auto parts store or ebay and buy 4 new key less lugs. Unless you are parking in the hood there is no need to have lockable lugs.

 

My '07 was missing it too - I thought the dealer found it when they did brake work under warranty. Turns out they don't even look for it in the car - they just use their own master set every time.

That being said, the dealer can match up the one you need and get it for you. I think it cost me $25 but that's because I got the car somewhere else. I bet if you're nice about it they might provide it at no cost to you.

 

I have mine in the bottom of the console, taken from the holder in the trunk. Easier access when they rotate the tires. You probably tried the glove box, console etc. Maybe it is bouncing around the spare tire well....
