Default Hello

Hi! New to this forum, but hope to be here a while.

I just got a '98 ES300 this month.

My last car was a 2001 Toyota Solara. It was a surprise gift from my grandmother ('Well, I heard you're moving, and you should have a good car to get there..'), in great shape (besides some hail damage I couldn't avoid) and never gave me any serious problems in 3 years.

I name my cars after spaceships. That's Voyager last year.

This is her now.

A few weeks ago, I got hit from behind by a van and pushed into the back of an SUV.

Total loss. I was worried about finding another good car with the settlement, until I had a test drive in the Lexus that was up for sale privately by a neighbor of someone I know. It was very impressive, and not too expensive thanks to a dent, a scratch, and a windshield crack.

So, this is the Normandy (that helped me to choose my forum name).

While I would rather not have had to switch, I'm glad I ended up with such a nice and smooth-running car. 157,000 miles, hopefully I can make it past 200 without too much trouble.

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry that your Solara got killed. Those are pretty nice cars.

I believe they use the same engine as the ES300. But I could be wrong. I am still learning Toyota/Lexus. Acura and Mercedes are my specialty.

That ES300 looks nice and if it you keep it well maintained it should easily last 250K+

This is a great forum and hope you enjoy your stay.
