Default Dash and red needle

Guys,

My red needles are starting to fade and burn out on my 95 ES300. Is that an easy fix, can i just pop the old ones off and put new ones on?

Default This is a fairly common complaint

This is a fairly common occurance as the '92-'96 models with the "floating" pointers age. If you do a search, you'll find lots of discussion on this topic, from people jerry rigging them, to the prices charged for replacing them at the dealer.
I'm lucky, so far, the pointers on my '96 with 83K miles are still going strong, knock on wood.

Popping off the needles on any of the gages is very risky. The needles are illuminated by any aray of LED's. There is a hair thin wire which supplies power to the lights on the needles. Lexus wised up and ditched this setup in 97' for a more durable and longer lasting acrylic needle lumintated by a stationary back light. Sorry man, not much you can do.

ok I was wondering cause on the SC you can change out JUST the GAS and TEMP and the SC has the same problems as the ES with the speedo.
the needles look like there the same.
