Depends. Paint fade is caused by the sun and happens over the life of the vehicle if it is parked outside in the sun quite often. When I took off my emblems, I saw the original color of my car, which was 5x darker than the color I saw all the time...

What year is your car? I own a 97 and just recently debadged it about 2 weeks ago. just use a blowdryer, goo gone ,and floss. left the outline of the es300 but after a wash n wax, it looked like it was never even there
