OFFSET! Too Much!
The offset on the wheels of the ES300 is 50mm. If you go to 35mm this pushes the wheel out toward the fender and the center of gravity is out of balance which could cause uneven wear on the axle or spindle.
Has anyone had problems with custom wheels?
In particular, the offset and hub centric rings?

I just got some 17s with a +45 offset, and I've noticed that there is considerable vibration between 55 & 75 mph, but they threw in an alignment with the wheels & tires, and I think they might not have aligned it right...anyone else have any input on this?
Thanks

nah, its not the alignment, if anything they didnt balance the wheels right.....
its more common to have this problem with much larger wheels such as 19's or 20's
now i dont know about the spindle issue or axle issue but i havent seen anything about it on the forums thus far

ok, custom wheels shouldnt affect much, as long as you pick the right size tires. because the stock 15" with 205/65/15 is close to 25.5"(1010tires.com) in total diameter. so as long as you choose the right size tire, then you should be fine. but if you get a smaller total diameter tire compared to stock, then yes, you will be lower, therefore the center of gravity(which is actually better for performance). a +35mm offset may or may not work. offset goes hand in hand with wheels widths. ie, a 15*6 +35et will still work, but a 15*10 +35et will not.
now lowering a vehicle is harsher. because right off the top of my head, i know you get bumpsteer. and since our cars dont offer adjustable tie rod ends, we will just have to deal with bumpsteer on a lowered vehicle. also the halfshafts are not at a fairly perfect horizontal with the tranny, therefore an angled halfshaft( more wear).
bizarreride, it will probably be from not balancing wheels right. and if they did, then look into suspension bushings. control arm bushings, etc. etc.
