I have a 2002 ES300 and the windshield was recently replaced with an aftermarket. My rain sensor no longer functions.

I see from other forums that the Rain Sensor Tape needs replacement. The dealer part is $26.00. Do you have any do-it-yourself instructions for replacement?

 

I have a 2003, why do i not know what a rain sensor is or if my car has one or not? what does it do? does it turn the windshield wipers on automatically?

 

When you have your wiper control arm (the one on the right side of your steering wheel) in the second selection from the top, the wipers go on automatically when there is enough rain on the windshield.

The rain sensor is to the right of the mirror and mounts on the windshield; the tape is on the side of the rain sensor that mounts to the windshield and if there is no tape the automatic wipers do not function.
