2001 Lexus Es300 Problem, Need Help!
Hi everyone,
When I start my car in P, engine rev is at 0, there is battery icon, oil pressure icon, check engine icon, I can't depress the gas paddle. If I turn my key and depress gas paddle slightly, i can keep rev, as soon as I remove my foot, rev go to 0 and I can't depress gas again. And when I put in my key without turning the key, there is a noise under the hood. Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Thank you very much!

red circle is where noise come from when I insert my key without turning just insert.
blue circle is a kind loose cable connect to red circled part.
Can someone tell me what the red circled part is? and if the cable is suppose to be loose. My camera is out of battery now, can someone with the same car post their photo? I want to compare and see if there is any different.
Thanks alot!

is your car bogging out as soon as it starts up? as in when you turn the key, the rpm's will spike and then hit zero and the car dies out? if so, then its mostly likely a dirty idle air control valve.
thanks, PlatES300, do you have an ES300? If you do, could you check to see if there is noise from the hood when insert the key? My noise is from the cruise control actuator, the black box next to the battery when I am facing the engine. Thanks a lot.

Hi everyone, I fix the problem, turns out the idle control motor is out, so just replace it, fixed my problem, thanks for all the help, and I hope my experience will help others as well.
Hi, I didn't take a picture of the part which I order from the dealer, I will show a manual pic, hope it helps. It needs to be remove with the throttle body because it is screwed on upside down.
