Try changing the PCV valve, clean the throttle body and also do a multiple drain and fills(3X) of the transmission and see if that helps with the sluggishness.

 

i actually did get a check from the other guy's insurance company, but it was only made for poultry $680...hustling with them was quite pointless. I have the check just sitting there right now, waiting to be used. Which kind of brings me to my next question, there does not seem to be a clear cut solution to take house paint off of my car without actually damaging the car paint. There are some way that i read online that said that they would work pefectly: 1) use a lot of wax and a buffer. pour wax on top of the damaged region and keep buffing with the buffer until the white paint comes off. 2) use a clay bar and some other stuff. Trip to a auto parts store revealed that people there do not know anything, but thats beside the point. There seems to be a cleaning kit called "clay bar" which has some interesting stuff in it, but i wonder whether it will help remove the paint.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

 

you got $680 from their ins. co. for the damage to your hood? if you got that estimate from a body shop, why don't you just take it to them and let htem sand and repaint the hood so it looks good?

what about when someone broke into your car? get any ins. money from that? you could have gottena new interior out of it, installed by the dealer!

if you are hell bent on taking that paint off yourself and pocketing hte money, try getting it wet and peeling it up. if it's latex, it will come up. if it's oil based, you're screwd. the buffer will **** up the original paint as well when you're trying to grind off the house paint.

clay bars are for small imperfections in the paint, not a disaster like you have.

me? i'd take the $680 and give it to a body shop so the car will look good.

 

I'd keep it and take that $680 and start from the engine first....I'd rather have something that runs well versus looks good. I'd definitely focus on making it run better and then deal with the cosmetic issues down the line when u have more $$$
