KYB Stuts?
Has anypne replaced there original lexus struts with these and where these just as good as the ones that come with the car originally?

It was a long time ago when I did this at least 6yrs ago and I don't have the car any more. It costed me $600 installed with an exhaust job at a muffler shop so the series and model number was probably lower then what your looking at.

None of these are a bad choice.
In (very short)summation, based on the data I've collected:
1. Tokico - stiffer, sharper, "more harsh," "more sporty"
2. Bilstein - not a lot of data on these for the 2nd generation. Well-established company though.
3. KYB GR-2 - "the closest to stock," many reports of ride improvement without harshness, many raves/few rants on this site and others.

I installed them on my ES300 and am impressed with them. They are better than my stock struts (in their condition at the time of replacement).
Any search in this ES300/ES330 forum with "KYB" is going to turn up a massive number of comments about these and rare are the negative comments (if any).

I had the KYBs on my ES with the Tanabe springs and they're pretty good. Rears arent stiff enough to have a back seat full of people and not rub with rims but its to be expected with lowing springs but other than that no complaints really. If you're sticking with stock springs I would definitely recommend them.

I'm pretty sure everyone is in agreement that KYB struts is the best bet for a stock/plushy ride. I personally wouldn't get lowering springs that aren't properly matched with the struts. I would just stick with your stock springs.
