door lock problem
im gonna try and explain it as best as i can w/o confusing you guys.
(i have a 98 es300 ~94k miles) whenever i usually drive i drive with the doors locked. now when i unlock the doors to let passengers out (primarily in the front) the door locks will repeatedly click and unlock, even all the doors are already unlocked. ( it drives me crazy
)
have you guys experience anything like this? any help would greatly be appreciated!
thanks

Yes, mine did the same thing. You have a lock that is going out. It is not locking or unlocking all the way. Once you find out which one it is just buy a replacement lock off ebay and change it out. Or get a mechanic to do it for you. I have done two so far on my 93 ES.
thanks for the response.
how hard is it to change out a lock? is there a specific name to the part that i need to replace? or is it just called a door lock mechanism?
thanks again
is this the part i would replace/buy?

It is called a door lock actuator. It is kinda tricky but not too bad. You have to remove the door lock disconnecting it from the outside and inside door handles. For the front door I had to remove the window as it was too tight with it in there. It was easier on the back door.
