Default spring or shock?

I have a 92 es300, sometimes the front end will have trouble going over speedbumps, the bottom might hit it and make loud noise. i tried going to each corner of my car and push it down hard and test the shocks, it doesn't bounce up and down.... so could it be springs warning out? if so i can bought stock brings from someone else .... will it be a bad idea? how much would it cost to have someone change them? any estimate?

i also am looking for some leather shift *****, something to replace the stock wanrout ones, anyone have good suggestions? after market ones that doesn't look bad? any sugesttion is appreciated.

The ES does not have shocks, they are struts. Sounds like you have worn strut mounts and worn out struts itself. Springs don't wear out. I like the TRD Japan shift ***** for Toyota models. www.carsontuned.com has plenty to choose from.

I found this on that site for the es300 -97-01 model. How are you gonna fit that shifter on? Has anyone done it before?

Strutmounts are about $80/piece at the Toyota/Lexus parts counter. Labor for that is about 2 hours. Labor alone should be about $75/hr avg depending on where you live. Springs don't wear out. If they wear out they will sag, but OEM springs never fail unless involved in a hard collision. Struts are the most common thing to replace on any vehicle..especially with high mileage. Struts eventually wear out and leak fluid, which causes the ride to get bouncy. No fluid to absorb = riding on springs and no shock absorbing action.

Unfortunately, the only option would have in terms of shift **** would be through Levoc. The leather/wood ones levoc has unfortunately causes the **** to sit high, almost like a UPS truck shifter. Unless you cut the shaft (which i wouldn't recommend), that would be your only option unless you rewire the o/d button to a remote location.
