Post Sway or struts?

Hi - I have a '94 ES300 w 241,564 km. Recently I went to for a maintenance check and I asked what's wrong when my rear wheels slides (a little bit) when braking. I have checked my tire pressure and it seems to be okay. I'm wondering if its my rear struts and/or my rear sway bushings? I have also squeeking in my brakes. Also the dealership is quoting $1160 CND for the struts, stoppers, and towers. Do you thinks this is much for parts and labour? Please reply. Thx

Rear wheels slide? Explain further. When's the last time you changed out your struts. That could be the biggest culprit to your sloppy handling if so. Brake squeal is normal depending on when the squealing happens. If it's squealing when you dont have the brake applied...it's time for some brake work. If you were here in the US, a fair price for strut install and parts would be under $500. Brakes should cost no more than $200 in parts and labor for front and rear. Towers? Not quite sure what you're talking about.

Default Yes it is..

Yes it is my left rear strut. My sway bar is okay. The Toyota dealership was asking for way to much money for unnecessary car repairs. I have a local mechanic now and I will be picking up the parts at Lexus dealership for less than Toyota. Thanks for your reply and I really do appreciate your help and expertise.

Great find on the local mechanic. Hard to find a good honest mechanic nowadays.
