Default How do I fix this?

This is picture of rear right. I don’t even know what this thing is called or what it does. I’m thinking maybe take off that thin bracket and bend it and put it back

Hello,

This is a Body Position Sensor for the HID Headlights, and it is not supposed to look like that.

It appears that the arm that attaches to the sensor itself jumped out of its sector, which likely happened during one of the suspension repairs, when the wheel was lowered below a certain point. To correct this, you will have to unbolt the link between the sensor and the suspension, and put the sensor arm back to the correct orientation, here is a thread that shows the correct position for it.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

I thought it was going to take me 30min - 1 hour to fix this. But holy moly, it took less than a minute (minus jacking up the car). Just loosen the lower nut (10mm) and then push the elbow joint away, and then tighten the nut again.
