If the timing belt brakes on a 97 es 300. does this ruin the engine?

Hello,

Likely not, but it will certainly make for a very bad day, with no profit to be gained.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

How often should timing belt (water pump, etc) be replaced. I have a 2006 es330. The timing belt, etc. was changed at Lexus around 80K (normal service). The Lexus tech says since mileage is now 176K, timing belt, etc. should be replaced again. DD for my son in college - still in good shape. Should I have the TB, etc. replaced now?
