Default Valvoline Max Life ATF

I have to use dextron III, I have a 97. Has anyone used this before? I use their motor oil and am satisfied. My tranny shifts a little hard out of 1st and I can feel it downshift too! My fluid is also pretty dark. Thanks

you need Toyota Type-IV ATF
i just picked some up an hour ago.
i asked the toyota guy how much i would need. he said 4, so i picked up 4 hah
i came home, crack open my manual, and it said i need about 2 quarts.. =\
each quart is 5.14 bucks
I asked the guy about the tranny filter, but he said, just open up the pan, and clean it out with brake cleanner..
no need to change it, because its metal. Not like Ford with their paper filter haha.

Ill be doing my change tomorrow.

Some ESs use dextron, not toyota type IV, it says so right on the dip stick. And yes, the filter is a servicable part, which means it is reuseable, I guess you just wash it out or something.

Cool

Most, if not all older/early Lexus/toyota's used Dextron II.
