How fast can ES go?

Just wondering how fast can a ES300 go?? I search online and some say 8.7sec and some say 7.8 sec... ( this is base on 1998 model)... does anyone ever test out how fast can this model go?? please let me know:p :p

Yes. Goverened at 126 MPH. Once you hit 126 it literally cuts off the fuel. I tried this is (2) 1992's a 1995 and (2) 1997's. The 1997's both seem not to wanna pass 125. ;)

George Hsieh Sep 12, 2003 07:17 PM

Yes... but I was asking how fast can we GO from 0-60......

LexDiamond Sep 12, 2003 08:10 PM

142 posts. <duh> do a search, there are severial threads with posts in the last few months covering the topic to death.

IMHO from what I read a few months ago if you have the nerve to do 130 with *that* suspension under you, most of the cars seem to be able to hit 130-135 given enough room... Most people back off before then. Room being the deciding factor.

Anyways. Maybe the late ones do, but the early ones have no gov. They'll run what they run. Good luck passing 140 within 5 miles of straight roadway unless you're flying down a mountian. See the threead in the search. I have mine around 110-120 every night I come home from work on the open interstates. I've been to 140, but never passed it & I had the help from the backside of a fairly steep mountian with 2.1m of down hill striagh goodness.

Just don't turn after you get 100+. The cars feel awful. If you want to do it, get wider, grippier tires, sway bars, new shocks and springs atleast. No... Actually buy a GS or an IS.

Hoebag and Toysrme:

Your ignorant for operating your vehicle at that speed, moreover, bragging about it. You are putting others at risk not cool :thumbdn:

Kohinoor Sep 14, 2003 12:23 AM

well, at the time, no one was on the road in either direction as far as i could see...flat & open road...why not test what i have? i didnt put any risk to anyone but myself

LexDiamond Sep 14, 2003 02:51 AM

If no one is around then why not but be careful :D

Toysrme Sep 14, 2003 03:43 AM

Who's advocating it? I take offince to you as well.

You don't need to be an english major to read my post and figure out this car is not safe at those speeds under any but perfect conditions...

Hell the only part of the car that's worth a crap are the brakes. Just keep in mind that you're only going to get ONE stop. Even if you swap the rotors to slotted Brem's I doubt you'd get any more than TWO descent stops from 100mph+ within any resonable time frame.

I haven't been here too long but find all the high speed ES threads... You'll note I don't advicate high speed in traffic, or traveling in groups stoutly. Not only that, but I do think I remember giving thosee last two sentances to you once before...

Go beat your own dead horse. you BTW aree the person that brought up high speed in the ES range... All George Hsieh asked about was quickness. You had to bring up how *fast* are they actually.

i have test my ES A/T (15"stock rims)with my friends Civic SIR 5spd and BMW 328is 5spd(all of us were spare tire out)...i think we got the similar time so just give u an idea, since none of us is faster than others...on 0-100km/h
but after 100km/h that BMW just FLY away...
:eek2:

M-Q8 Sep 14, 2003 07:28 PM

well the issue here isnt about safety ( although that SHOULD be an issue) , but about speed or how fast the ES can go actually.

the ES i drive goes as far as 240KM/H , but i could only get it to go about 200KM/H. maybe im chicken ****, or is it my imagination that after a few seconds going on 200KM it just wudnt go any faster? i dunno i think its the car though.. well the fastest ive ever been was about 200KM/H.. anyone else go faster? or COULD go faster?

LexFather Sep 14, 2003 07:31 PM

No one here is a Saint and we all have sinned so let's just talk about topping out.

I did in the manual at 125mph about 6 years ago and compared to my old stock IS or my GS, it feels totally different and quite uneasy IMO.
