Window wont stop
Search high and low for the answer. My windows go up and down just fine, but I can't stop them in between. Happening on both the drivers and passenger side, help if you can.

Hello,
Just as a sanity check, windows on your driver and passenger doors have an Automatic function to them, meaning that it will go up and down automatically if you pull the switch all the way up. In order to gradually open and close the window, you only need to pull it until the first click. Does the switch work at the first click? Does the passenger side work? If it doesn't work in the middle position, test the continuity of the switch, using the diagram below. If there is none, replace the switch. If there is, check the window control module. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...de4b072ddc.png Hope this helps and best of luck! |
Once the windows are in motion try touching the switch in the opposite direction.
Window is closing (rising) press down lightly on the switch. Window is opening (lowering) lift briefly on the switch. Anti-Jam feature: if the closing window encounters an obstruction (hand/head!) it will stop and reverse a couple of inches. If you need to override the Anti-Jam (panhandler reaching in...) you should lift and Hold the button up. Window will not stop! If your windows are not operating in this manner you may try a simple reset which is called "initializing" Press down on the window control and continue to press until the window is fully open, Lift and continue to lift until the window is fully closed. Repeat twice. Can also be done to the sunroof if it is not Automatically opening and closing. |
