Autotrader Values
The resale value of this car is amazing. I sold my 04 ES 330 over 3 years ago for 4500 with 140k miles, and there were others going for less. Today, I look for 04 ESs with under 150k and they are all over 5K with clean Carfaxes. I think the resale value of this car has actually gone up after 3 years. I checked my old ES through Carfax and it's still going strong in NJ at 190K miles after being sold at an Auto Auction. They got a good car with timing belt done, Eagle Eyes LED taillights and upgraded D2S Xenon projector headlights. (And if you're on here, I would like to hear from you! Your car still has a Clean Carfax). I am on the hunt for 4ESs again.

They pretty much go for Camry prices. Paid $4500 for my '04 with about 147000 miles a couple of months ago. I wanted a Camry, shopped for a Camry, and noticed that I could upgrade at no additional expense for a Lexus. Of course I had to go to Florida to fetch it so there's that cost but I wanted a pristine rust free one, and I got it! As far as going up in value, could be. There's an '05 at a Massachusetts dealer with 127,000 miles which I test drove in December with price of 6K but he no wants an insane 8K for it and this of course is one with the usual rust.

Not by much, mind, but they certainly haven't lost any value over the last 3 years. People know how reliable these cars generally are.
I've seen the same phenomenon you mention on used Highlander AWD V6 and RX 330s/350s - values are closely correlated on the used market even though the RX would have been 10,000 dollars or more expensive. |
