Smile ES Search

Hello,
My name is Dylan. I am 18, a High School Senior looking to get into the Lexus game. I have always aspired to own my own Lexus, and am trying to start from the bottom. Anyway I'm looking for info on the 2000-2004 ES. Any idea how much I should pay for each model? What are the biggest problems on each? Where are good spots where you all have found your used ES'? This ES is going to be completely funded by myself, so an idea of a goal would be awesome. Thanks in advance everyone!

I would say go with newer Lexus 2007+ Older once have acceleration delay and sometimes transmission gets confused and car jerks.

I recently bought a 2002 ES300 with 115K for 4.2 grand. So far I'm happy with the performance and have no major issues (knock on wood)

07+ are not as reliable as the older models. I love Lexus and hate saying it but it’s true. I would get a 04-06 so you have the nicer tail lights and bumper/fogs. 01 and older look very outdated in 2019.

2004 got the new 3.3L engine and 05 is when it got a mid-cycle refresh. So I would look for 04+, well maintained single owner car.
I still drive my 98 ES and its going strong... they were very well made back then.
