Default Lexus purchase high miles

Hi I’m a new Lexus owner I bought a 05 es 330 with 188k 1 owner seems very well taken care of. The guy had all records tune up and timing belt changed at 141k. How many ore miles can I honest get out of it?

Imo you can head into the 250-275K range before you have to re-think the status.

Several years ago my wife bought her es300 with 110K, now has 198, she's tired of looking at it so we're shopping for an upgrade but dam thing still runs great.

While shopping for a rx350 I stumbled across (by pure chance) and bought my current 99 rx300 with 187K miles last year mint condition outside, paid under 3K, was basically driven (highway) 140K miles in first three years (carfax), original owner had new tranny put in 2002 then sold it to owner #2, and it was a condo car since then until I bought it early 2018. I'm at 196 and still poking along, I put on a new starter and that's it. My trip computer says 5800.x right now and had a passenger in the car the other day who thought the car had 58K miles on it, I shocked the hell out of him when I hit the button to show 196K.

while on topic, I tend to buy higher mileage (because i'm cheap and also because i"ve had good luck so far) then I run them till I get bored with them and they are getting grey hairs, then sell them for about $800 to $1000.
Sold my 94 es300 with 288, It was still running <took 3 hours to sell it < priced right
sold my wifes 95 es300 with 276 running strong <took 1 hour to sell it < priced right

I've only been burned once on a purchase and it was totally my fault, car ran bad during test ride so instead of walking away I negotiated down, lost a bit on that deal but I was an idiot, seller was a POS and a liar, but I completely blame myself on that purchase.

IMO you will get tired of the car long before the car gets tired.

well done
my mechanic changed both lower control arms and billed me $400. that is great savings if you can get away with replacing bushes. i wonder why he didnt offer me to do that.
post some poictures as you improve your car.and your DIY projects like repacing bushings and struts.

There is a lot of debate on this. From personal experience I did not experience a leak after using 5w30 synthetic on my es with about 220k miles or so making a trip across the country just about and back.
As for using 10w30 some people do reccomend doing this as engines get a lot of mileage on then to make up for clearance. However 10w30 does not perform as well in colder weather or very hot weather. I can testify to the colder part as my engine was started in a very cold morning and it did not sound happy to say the least. So I opted to change back to 5w30 until it warms up a little more.

I have 2 friends with 05 ES, one with 250k miles and one with ~180k miles. Both have owned since new and have a hard time replacing them because they just keep going. The one with 250k has only had the alternator replaced outside of basic maint.
