Headlamp (not bulb) replacements?

We have a 2001 Lexus ES, and recently one of the headlights completely fogged up. Took it in to local car shop (not dealership) and was told that the condensation is due to a leak in the headlamp casing. Unfortunately, the headlamp is no longer being produced by Lexus, so the replacements run about $1,200 each. Mechanic advises that since we need to take the full bumper off to replace the headlamp, we might as well replace both (even though only one is currently bad). I guess the risk of not replacing the bad one is eventual corrosion from moisture. We've already upgraded to LED lights on the vehicle so don't want to risk that. Has anyone else encountered this issue? What did you do?
We thought that perhaps we could coat the headlamp casing in clear epoxy to seal any cracks, but not sure how well that would work.

Plenty of used headlights on Ebay.

You can buy a used one off the wrecking yard or Ebay.

Or you, or a mechanic, can separate the headlight and headlight lens and add new sealant to prevent moisture from getting in. This is a fairly simple process and shouldn't cost much I dont think
If you did it your self it would of course be very cheap.
