Hi to all!
I am a big fan of the first generation ES300. I have had 4 of them (1992-1993). All bought used ones. Auto and manual.
Currently I have one with 65K original miles that sits for several years. Its paint is peeling and interior is in bad shape. I drove it for 6-7 years before this without problems.
I kept it as a future donor car. ( It is in NY)
A year ago I bought another one. Exactly like the first one. But with an excellent body/paint. And very good clean interior. 125K miles on it. Bad tranny (does not shift. All the time drives in the 2nd gear.) My GF happily drives it slowly locally. Also recently it started to emit a white smoke. But she still drives it. Not on the highway. It is n Florida.
I bought it with the idea to swap engine and tranny from my NY ES300.
So now the engine/tranny is removed. And in about three weeks I plan to deliver it to Florida. For replacing.
All preparation and installation work will be done in the local trusted shop.
My question is - What service and maintenance/replacements should be done to the engine/tranny before installation while it is not in the car yet? While it still has an easy access to all parts.
Considering its age. And the fact that it was on the car that was sitting in the backyard without use for 5(?) years.
All your experienced informed advice and suggestions will be highly appreciated, gentlemen!

(My other vehicle is 1999 LX470. 140 Kmiles))

Cam seals, crank seals, timing belt components, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs and wires, drive belts.

Drive belts will be taken from the 1st car. Practically new. All was replaced when bought the car. Also spark plugs and wires. 2K miles on them.

Any cleaning inside engine and tranny? Transmission fluid?

You should replace all the fluids don't forget about the brake fluid as well. On replacing all the seals/gaskets I recently put in a JDM engine into a friends car engine had about 40,000 miles and sat for many years possibly 10. We did not replace anything the engine runs perfectly no leaks. Having said that, it's a gamble you could put in an engine that has sat for years and find out you have leaks.

What year engine are you talking about?

Two identical cars. 1993 ES300. Auto.
On the first one I drove from 26K to 65K miles.

Valve stem seals could be bad from sitting this is common on the 3VZ-FE. And look for signs of HG failure. Also replace the distributor O-ring.

Nah it's common knowledge for people that have worked on the 3VZ. Another thing that comes to mind is clean the TVIS assembly it gets quite dirty take a look here to know what I'm talking about 17300 in the diagram you'll probably need a new gasket 17127.
