New key remote will not release trunk
 
I got a new key fob from 1010keys on eBay for my 2001 ES300, it will program to start, lock and unlock, but will not open the trunk. The red light illuminates indicating it’s sending a signal. My master remotes opens it so I know it’s not a vehicle or signal problem. The master is a HYQ1512V, the new one is a HYQ 12BBT, the guy from 1010keys claims they are interchangeable. Any ideas, has anyone had problems where only the trunk release button would not operate?

I also had this issue when I ordered keys from 1010keys. It seems that if you ordered the 3 button (unlock, lock, trunk) when your original had (unlock,lock,trunk,and panic) it may be a compatibility issue.

They are somewhat interchangeable BUT only for lock/unlock as you described. If you want trunk, it has to be the correct remote FCCID (HYQ1512V).
