Best bet would be buying a new aftermarket head unit, or buying a used working unit to replace just the lcd back light or the whole assembly.

I would defintely go with aftermarket. The radio is not hard to install at all, and for a few hundred you can gain SiriusXM, Bluetooth and even a back up camera if you really want one.
If you want to stay with stock, find a junk yard. My local yard has several radios still in the cars which likely still work.

Did you pay using PayPal? Ive dealt business with Aliexpress/Alibaba numerous times and most cases the moderators will side with these sellers. Once incident I had was similar. Issue with the product, spent more than $300, agreed to return, advised to lower value to avoid charges on their end. It took 3 weeks to arrive, product was damaged, seller refused to refund. I immediately filed a complaint on paypal. Paypal sided with me/buyer after i posted all the required info i.e conversation, receipts, tracking etc. Full refund was issued. Aliexpress/Alibaba payment is a joke. Always ask them that you will deal using paypal only for any future purchases. If you did use PayPal, you can still try to file for a refund. Otherwise lesson learned.
