Default 06 ES330 climate control screen is blank

Hey everyone. Been a while since I've logged in! I just got a 06 330 with 130k miles and I'm fixing all the little things. Soooooo my climate control buttons work perfect but the screen is completely blank. Common issue? Do I need to replace the entire climate control unit?

My wife's 06 with 125K miles has also developed some missing LED segments on the climate control display. For instance, instead of 72 degrees it wi show 12. Since the center console is all integrated, I am fearful that it all has to be replaced just to fix the strip of display. Honestly, not worth it on her 12-year-old car. If it became blank like yours then I might browse the local dismantler yard to see how much it would be to replace it yourself.

Weird, guess it's not a common thing and the only solution is replacing that whole unit! I'll wait a few days to see if anyone replies then track one down from a junkyard. Might as well replace all the bulbs behind it to.

Try tapping lightly on the display. You may get lucky.

I never even considered this. Thank you for the tip! I didn't realize the cost could be so low and definitely plan to go this route.

I've been calling junkyards and think I found one but a few questions...

My car doesn't have heated or cooled seats. Can I still use a climate control if it has those options?

What years will work on my 06? I assumed 02-06 but junkyards are telling me only 04-06...

Thank you.

Do some basic research! Looking at units on Ebay the ones with seat heater buttons have an extra connector the other connectors look the same. So they might be compatible maybe not why not just buy the proper unit. According to the part number the production date range is 06/2004-02/2006 but without checking using your VIN that may not be correct.

I actually stopped by the dealer. He told me a unit with seat heater/cooler buttons wont work. But any standard one from 02-06 will be fine hmmm.

Fixed it! I used an 03 with no issues so any year from 02-06 without heated or cooled seat options will work.
