Default Need help identifying mystery hose

Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I just bought a 1998 ES300 and just changed the 02 sensor and when I went to change the air filter it had a lot of leaves and junk laying in the bottom of the air filter box so I decided to remove it to easily clean it out (working outside with no air compressor). So when I removed the air filter box bottom part this hose was just laying there underneath it, I have no idea where it goes or what it's for and was hoping someone could help? For all I know it may not go anywhere and just a random hose that ended up in there but I'm more inclined to think it could possibly be from this car and go somewhere. Anyone recognize it?

Looks like the hose was cut so harder to identify. You'll find a similar or same hose on the brake booster, PS reservoir maybe some evap lines. You'll get a CEL quickly if a hose like that is missing.

Yeah, it does look cut so maybe it's just a hose someone replaced and a lazy mechanic just left part of it in there or maybe it fell down in there and got stuck under the air box so they didn't bother with it. Probably the case, I looked all over trying to find a place where it could go thinking maybe it was just some type of vent hose or something but looking at it closely yes it's been cut I think.
