Door "whistles"?
Opinions needed, my '98 es300 at speeds above say 40mph, has not really a whistle, but a muted "sshhhh" sound around the door glass, both sides. Now, I've carefully adjusted the doors for best aligned, tight closure. And the door rubber seals look really fine, no tears or other visible wear. I've cleaned and wiped down the seals with "303" protectant as well. The window glass goes all the way up to it's proper height. Any ideas before replacing the rubber($$$)? Thanks!

I solved this problem once on another car, I think it was an old BMW 2002. The rubber seal had just become a bit compressed over time. I took some little bits of black closed-cell foam, like 2” x 3/8” x 3/8” strips, and I stuck them behind the door seal in various places aginst the painted steel of the chassis until I found the leaking spot. It supported the seal enough and continued to work as long as I owned the car. Once I found the right spot, I put some adhesive on the back of the foam so it stayed in place, though it really might not have been necessary, it was wedged in nicely. The cost was effectively free and the solution long-lasting.
