Default ac blinking

Guys. My ac is blinking but not all the time. Worked all day yesterday but not so much today. Do relays fail completely?
Does the compressor work when it feels like it? Need help Summers comin!

There is a replacement for later models, this is a known problem. Google the issue and you can find the replacement p/n. You can get one cheap online; autoparts stores have them, too.

Mine was a easy fix too 20 dollar relay at local auto store. Just replace the relay in the under hood fuse box.

If its not the relay inspect the compressor wiring. When mine did it, it was due to the fact that the part of the harness that goes down to the compressor got loose. It got too close to the fan and the blade cut a wire and bared another one. I just butt spliced them back together with some heat shrink ones, cleaned up the mess and called it a day.

Could be a bad relay as some mention, was a possible issue with the Gen5 Camry, not sure about the 4ES.

Blinking AC light could also be a fault indication that there is a engine RPM mismatch with the AC compressor (i.e. loose or wet belt). Usually turning off the ac and turning back on will fix this. Also could be from AC clutch is not engaging/slipping or seizing as well (usually the AC/Accessory belt will burn up in this case)
