Navigation upgrade question for ES300
I'm thinking of upgrading to the navigation system on my 2002 ES300. I noticed you can get the kits through Crutchfield real cheap and get the head units off eBay pretty cheap as well. My only concerns are with the plugs, am I going to need all new wiring harness plugs for the navigation head unit? Also if I buy a used one will I need to buy the Lexus CD or will it already be uploaded on the head unit since it's used? Thanks guys...

If you mean retrofitting a vintage Nav system into a non-nav car, I think there are better ways to spend your money.
ArmyofOne made a post in January about what he did, it was not expensive and looked nice, included back-up camera. The problem w/retrofitting is you are dealing with 20 year old technology that will not be terribly satisfying. After market fascias, harness adapters, and cheap double-din systems on the market now make an upgrade not hard or expensive. Check out his post.

If you have a smart phone just get a CarPlay enabled one. You can get a brand name one for about $300 hundo or cheaper on eBay for like Dual or knockoff. I personally went with a Pioneer with nav and CarPlay for $600 I’m pretty frugal most of the time however, “good s**** ain’t cheap and cheap s**** ain’t good” get the right thing the first time and not have to worry about it later.
