Default Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) (Wheel drop)

I have a 2002 Lexus ES300 with AVS. When I raise the vehicle on a jack, the wheel drops down a few inches. This is a recurrent problem. Do I need to replace the struts. I see no oil leak. Car rides a little low in the rear.

When you raise any vehicle the wheel will drop down because there is no longer weight on the coil spring. Perfectly normal.

Ride height is determined by the springs, not the struts/shocks. Assuming nothing is bent or damaged you probably just have the sag of 15 year old springs. It does happen. A new set of OEM springs would bring you right back to good.
