BLOWN SUBWOOFER - 1999 Lexus ES300
Today i just blew my stock subwoofer in my 1999 Lexus ES300. Ive been doing some research on the sub and what would be the best to replace it with but i can't seem to find anything spectacular. In some posts I've read people have said that if you are trying to replace the stock sub woofer with an aftermarket sub and still have the stock amp you need to find a sub that starts out at 30-50 RSM/WATT and 4 OHM or else if the aftermarket sub is over 50 WATT it will fry my stock amp (which I'm not trying to do). This has made things very difficult in trying to find a good sub woofer to replace mine with. If this is true, what would be my best options? should i just try and find a stock 1999 Lexus sub woofer (pioneer)? any suggestions?

Too little power from the amp will NOT blow your amp or the speaker. The trouble comes when you are unsatisfied with the output and turn the volume up to levels the amp cannot handle.
For example, I blew my '98 ES300 sub and replaced it with a JL 8W1V3. The output was much better than no sub, a tiny bit better than stock, but was lackluster compared to my current amplified setup.
To be honest, I'd just find a used Lexus subwoofer (eBay, your local junkyards, etc) because putting in an aftermarket subwoofer will likely require modification (i.e. cutting the metal of the rear deck to fit the new subwoofer's dimensions). Going the factory route is pull out the old one, plug in the new one, and play.
