Is there a limit to the number of keys one can purchase and program? I bought a used 2003 ES300 in 2010 and lost a key about 4 years ago. I bought a replacement set of 2 from Amazon & local locksmith was able to cut & program. I'd given one extra to my best friend for safekeeping but she now has Alzheimer's & doesn't know where it is. Then I couldn't find my extra one, so I ordered 2 more from the same dealer on Amazon & went to the same locksmith. All he could do was get them to lock & unlock doors and trunk but the keys won't turn on the engine. Thought I may have gotten a dud set so sent them back & ordered 2 more...same result. Also, I found the extra key from 2 ½ years ago & now that one won't start the engine either. I do have an issue with a back (brake?) light going on & off occasionally - could this be part of the problem, or is it my 1st question about the # of keys that can be copied? I know my mom's Park Avenue manual says only 10 copies can be made of her key..., thanks in advance for any help!
