high pitch squeal acceleration while turning
2005 lexus es330
There is a high pitch squeal after the car has been sitting a few hours. from stop while turning and accelerating. this happens when ive turned the wheel far right or left and while going forward or reverse.
Ive checked the power steering fluid and it was fine.
Has anyone experienced this?

5S and 1MZ powered cars have an asinine PS belt tensioning system. I use a prybar and a friend to get it tight enough, and a Gates belt tension gauge (not really necessary, but I think it's nifty) to check.
Rubber contracts when warm, so after the car's been running a bit it tightens up and you stop hearing it. HTH

It's the power steering belt. The belt is loose. These are tough to get tight. Like nsghtbrwry, after loosing the retaining bolt, I use a pry bar and a helper to tighten the retaining bolt. Good luck. If the belt is old put a new one in if you go to all the trouble to tighten it.
