Default Strange noise in the dash windshied area

Okay, so this is weird... Every now and then a high pitched hum / squeal will come and go. I can't tell exactly where it's coming from, but it's definitely in front of me while driving. Seems to only happen at higher speeds. Anyone else had this happen? To say it's annoying is an understatement...

No one have this happen? Thinking maybe a windshield leak?! I can't imagine what else it could be, but it comes and goes and there is also a rattle sound in the dash that comes and goes too. So strange. Do these cars have cabin filters and maybe they are missing in this car causing the noise?

Quick search shows me speakers, alternator, pulleys, bearings, and belts as possible suspects--not a comprehensive list.

Turn off climate control and your radio, do you hear the noise? If not, it's likely from your speakers.
Park the car, put it in neutral, and rev the engine, do you hear the noise?
Pop open the hood and move the throttle cable to rev the engine, do you hear the noise?

Edit: If you do those engine tests and don't hear the noise, I'd suspect the wheel bearings.

Never had this problem but others seem to have had it a while back.

Calling out the forum for not replying to your post on a weekend won't get you any answers.
Some people are just guests browsing, some have no idea how to help, some are out driving their ESs.
