Default Question about changing dirty transmission fluid

Got this 1997 lexus es300 2 years ago with 170k miles on it. The transmission fluid is getting brown. Does anybody know if it would be ok to do a drain and fill on it? I have been told to leave t alone but I hate when my fluids are dirty. The car has 211000 miles with the original trans. No problems at all.

Drain and fill will be fine, a flush probably isn't advisable

there is also a transmission fluid filter. This is located inside the transmission. You must (if you want to do it), drain the fluid, also drain the final drive fluid. (so two locations). remove pan. locate filter, replace. install new seal, replace pan after cleaning it well.

fill is from two locations,
(USA drivers side) of rear of g/box has a final drive fill hole. fill until it drips.
I filled the main box from the dip stick hole, because I have a slow filling set up for this job on autos.
It will take about 6-7 litres all up.
