Mod parts ?
I recently bought a 96' ES 300 from one of my dads friends, I'm only 18 and in first semester in college and everyone there has these nice newer cars that are all modded out, and people compare my car and call it a grandpa's car I seen mods on Google and it looks really nice and sporty but I don't know where to go for parts for the car, I just want to buy a new lip maybe a grill side skirts and maybe a rear diffuser

You can't keep up with the Jones....there will always be people with more money and faster car.
And there will be always people judging you. You should give yourself props for buying your own car. Be yourself.... |
Thank you, I worked pretty hard for it this summer, but like I want to do somethingg to the car to make it have a nice touch to it I wanna do my own thing to it, but yeah I definitely don't look at these kids with these nice cars and be jealous cause they didn't work for them their parents buy all their things, my dad could but I don't want him to I want to be independent. I just wanna kno if anyone kno like websites to go on for mod parts or places in ny? Thank you again

There are very little modifications on ES300 since it is not really a sports vehicle.
A few pieces of cosmetic stuff will run you a few thousands after paint/installation. At that point, you have spent more than what your 96 ES300 is worth.... |
You can fabricate them yourself. Check out Lowcals, they did a bunch of videos on fabricating lips and diffusers (basically, get plastic, cut to shape, put together, and fasten on the car).
I'm also a college student with an ES300 and I love it. It pulls hard in first (moreso than the inattentive kids in their mommy-and-daddy-bought-me Audis and Jeeps). Don't let other people's pricey leases and money pits faze you. You have a Lexus ES300. It is reliable. It is the bridge between the classic style of the 80s and the roundness of the 2000s. OWN IT. Also, upgrade your sound system. A sub and amp make a huge difference and people at my college love bumpin'. Consider an HID retrofit, too. Some DRL Halo's will turn heads! Don't forget regular maintenance!!! Good luck and I hope it all turns out well. |

I see I see I can like do the add ons myself I'll check it out when I get home, and it's funny I just bought some speakers today got 4 pioneer speakers and my dad had a 12 something idk kicker he gonna put in my trunk, should be nice and sound really good, and thank youu I'm really proud of the car don't get me wrong. |
Jesus Christ the ground effects :o
A lot of people that mod their ES lower it. I think Tein Super Streets are some popular coilovers, but of course there's plenty of options. Clear corner lights and 2000/2001 headlights look much better, imo. (Here's a random example from somebody on the forum.) |

You said 1996? Isn't that the 2nd gen ES300? The pictures that you are showing are of the 3rd gen ES300s (97-01)
here is a perfectly done 2nd gen ES300/Windom :) Attachment 395321 I have Tein SS coilovers on my 3es. Apparently they are rare..so if you cant find teins then theres ksport/bc racing. The 2nd gen already has nice dual projectors from the factory. You could add halos and paint the housing to make it pop. As for the clear tail lights, theres threads on how to remove the amber lens to make it a clear strip all the way across. |
Oh that 1997? Not to familiar with the generations yet, and not really to good with doing all these mods myself or anything I gotta learn ;(

Just kidding I have a 3ES and the amber insert removal is only for the 2ES (which OP has!) Basically: remove taillight from car, bake it open, pop out insert, butyl rope and bake it shut. |
BC Coilovers are available for the ES300, need any info on them please let us know!

Been there and I can understand how you feel. In hindsight, I would recommend to hold off on mods and instead invest in maintenance/cleaning. Over the long term it makes much more sense to simply get a different car that better suits your desires.
|
Best thing you can do is maintenance and cleaning! Detail the car completely - you'll feel like a million bucks.
|
For cheaper mods, try adding HIDs, LED's, tinting the windows and maybe upgrading the rims to 17" OEM wheels off a newer Lexus ES/GS or IS.
I added the garage door seal lip kit on my Solara and like how it turned out, especially for the price : https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...27acc0c084.jpg |
